Maine is a right to cure state which means any lender wishing to repossess collateral on a defaulted loan must first send a right to cure notice. The notice must advise the consumer that the loan is in default and that the consumer has 10 days to cure the deficiency or the collateral will be repossessed. The lender can repossess the collateral once the loan is 10 days pasrt due and the right to cure notice was sent in the last year. Maine law requires that all repossession agencies obtain a license through the Maine Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection. The Uniform Commercial Code section 9 is the federal law that governs repossessions. It requires that while a repossession is being done the peace is not breached. It also warrants that once any collateral is repossessed that the consumer is given an opportunity to get their collateral back by paying off the loan. This is called the "Right to Redeem". The lender is required to send a notice to the consumer advising them of their right to get the collateral back if the loan is paid in full within 15 days.
Speedy Repo also performs a large number of vehicle recoveries on recreational equipment in Maine. This includes All terrain vehicles, snow mobiles, fifth wheel campers and motor homes. Maine only requires that ATV's and snow mobiles sold by a dealership have titles. Private party sales of these do not require a title, just a bill of sale. Any ATV or snowmobile operated on public lands in Maine is required to be registered with the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW). Snow mobiles and ATV's operated on private property do not require any registration with the state. Speedy Repo has the equipment, and experienced personnel capable of repossessing any recreational vehicle you have a lien on in Maine. Please keep Speedy Repo in mind when you need a RV repossessed in Maine.
Logging is one of Maine's primary industries and we regularly repossess every type of logging equipment you have heard of and a few you haven't. Feller bunchers, skidders, forwarders, slashers, yarders and knuckleboom loaders are all types of logging equipment we have previously repossessed. We are veterans at finding them by checking logging permits and bonds that must be posted by any logging company cutting or driving across public lands. We have the equipment and are experienced at hauling all types of logging equipment in a safe and legal manner. Call us today and allow us to show you why Speedy repo is the best!
